The safety situation in Assyria gets worse. The violence is also targeted against education. This improves the barriers that already are there, leading to children, especially girls, are prevented from going to school.
These barriers are for example a far way to walk to school, or not having a school at all, lack of qualified teachers, especially females. Low quality on the education and immense poverty.

Basic education is important for children’s development and gives children necessary knowledge for the future. Education is important for the realization of human rights, for example freedom of speech and the right to participate in democratic decisions. Assyrians Without Borders work with societies and villages in order to create support for education.

Your support for schools and education is therefore of great importance, considering the present safety situation.

Today Assyrians Without Borders work with building schools, providing educational material, and helping in creating a safe travelling to school.

For the youth in Assyria happiness comes in shape of a school bus, a school bus which lowers the barriers which have been created by injustices and political acts. A bus which goes from one location to another in a safe way, and with routines. It does not cost the families anything, and it sets the way to an inner consciousness and development through education, which is the long term contribution.

Through a school bus Assyrians Without Borders can help the young people to go from school to home in a safe way, at the same time as it opens up doors of working possibilities for the rest of the Assyrian people through drivers and salespersons.

School bus in Assyria
For the pupils of the Assyrian Schools who are distributed in different areas in Northern Iraq (Assyria). About 60 pupils. The bus will work for two schools. This will facilitate the process of transporting the Assyrian Education pupils who are living in different areas.

Timetable-plan:
The bus will work for two schools in two stages as:
From 7.15 a.m. till 12.30 p.m.
From 11.30 a.m. till 4.30 p.m.

Christmas gifts for This year’s Twin Town Qabre Hewore
Just like the previous last year in the province of Nineveh, we will this year surprise the kids in Qabre hewore, in northeast Syria (Assyria) on Christmas. The past years we received donations from all over the world to support this event. This year is no exception. The gifts are bought in Qabre Hewore, by Assyrian stores and salesmen. This way we support the local shops and no money is lost in transporting gifts from Europe.
