The beginning of the new year started with no less than two honorable prizes as a thank you for the Assyrians Without Borders work for the Assyrian people in the Middle East.

The first award "Best Assyrians" together with a sum of 1000 Euro from the Assyrian Youth Federation in Sweden on the ground, which reads:

The Assyrians are today and so many other times and periods of a very vulnerable group of people in their countries of origin. They are subjected to oppression, persecution, discrimination, abuse and violence and the possibility to live a decent life is minimal for large parts of the community. What we are Assyrians in the West have learned to take for granted: democracy, education and welfare is far from obvious to our sisters and brothers in our home countries.

Assyrians Without Borders has in a short time successfully, albeit in a limited form, to help these Assyrians a safer and more favorable life. Assyrians Without Borders establishes mentoring villages, helping Assyrians in need of urgent action and distributes educational scholarships to the Assyrian youth.

Under the direction of Cristina Keryakos and with resolute Assyrian youths, they managed to make a difference. Youths, many of them brought up in Assyrian Movement and the Assyrian Youth Federation, has been active and has made a contribution.

It is therefore Assyrian Youth Federation sized pleasure of the Year in 2009 appointed by the Assyrians, Assyrians Without Borders and Cristina Keryakos.

The second award from Dr. Melek Homeland foundation with 2500 Euro with a statement which reads:

2009-year award goes to an organization which in some years has established itself at home Assyria. The organization has with its successful efforts in such a short time succeeded in obtaining more relief at home.
They are efficient in their approaches to both short and long term work for the welfare and development Assyrians in their homeland. They support individuals in need and supports the long-term development projects for the needy Assyrians.

In just a few years, their collection ideas tied to many members, donors and direct debit donors. The acquisition of a 90-account is a major challenge for the business. That they may keep it is the result of a confidence-building organization from the management.

A celebration of relief work carried out in August is always glorious, especially when it comes from the Assyrian people. The gifts are a very valuable contribution to our operation, it shows only that the work is bearing fruit and that the reward and provide assistance on many levels.

You are making it possible for us to quickly assist people affected by natural disasters and crises in the Middle East.

We the board of Assyrian Without Borders sends the honor to thank all of you: colleagues, offices and direct debit donors in one way or another contributed to the activities in the past year. We are totally dependent on your donations and thanks to your generosity we can continue to support the needy Assyrians in the Middle East. All contributions have been as welcoming and, as you know, go all collected funds be disbursed in full on to the Assyrian people and projects we support.

You are welcome to contact us on Assyrians Without Borders if you want to know more about our efforts in the Middle East in crisis areas where we work!

Together we make a difference!
