Assyrians Without Borders was founded to improve the situation for the Assyrians in Assyria.
1. We help Assyrians in Assyria
Assyrians Without Borders works primarily in helping Assyrians in Assyria to live in a more secure and better way. Assyrians Without Borders adopts villages, gives scholarships to Assyrian youth and helps Assyrians in need with instant aid, as during refugee catastrophes.
2. Voluntariness
Assyrians Without Borders is an organization built on voluntariness and gives help in an unselfish manner. Voluntariness counts both for donators and receivers.
3. Independence
Assyrians Without Borders cooperates with organizations, authorities and other players as it benefits exposed Assyrians, as long as it does not break the independence or integrity of Assyrians. Our independence is manifested in our free planning, we chose what to do, how long to carry on with an operation and which means to use. Assyrians Without Borders always ensures to remain completely independent towards all structures and authorities, whether political, religious, economic or other sort. We refuse to be used as an instrument by any other organization.
Our aim for independence applies also to the financial sphere as we make sure to collect as many donations as possible from private benefactors, to diversify our institutional financiers and, in some cases, refuse to accept contributions that would hurt our independence.
Our volunteers must on their part be discreet and avoid to hurt the reputation of Assyrians Without Borders through any personal acts.
4. Responsibility and transparency
Assyrians Without Borders sees it as a matter of course to openly show our work, both in regards to economy and activities, to our donors. Effectiveness and maximum use of resourses are catchwords in our work. Our efforts are controlled and documented on spot. Assyrians Without Borders puts much effort on maintaining continuous control of our work and to also always question the ways we work in.
5. A nonprofit organization
Assyrians Without Borders requests active participation in the work of the organization and the adoption of our main principles. We always seek to include new volunteers to maintain our spontaneity and spirit of innovation.
6. Create opinion
Assyrians Without Borders is obliged to make the public aware o f the situation of Assyrians in the Middle East, especially when Assyrians are oppressed or suffer from difficult conditions. Assyrians Without Borders openly critizes and condemns all oppression and side stepping of the human rights against the Assyrian nation irrespective of location.
